

The 15-Day film Festival From October 29 to November 7 which was organised by the French Embassy in collaboration with the Embassy of japan finally came to an end with the Presentation of Prizes; two Sharp TV sets ......

It
was a Fun fest which showcased the unique friendly Ties between the 2 Countries,
France and Japan and their Various Anime productions, with Free Entry and
Refreshment at the Institute Francais du Nigeria, Wuse 2, Abuja, FCT.
The
event was kick started on the 29th of October by members of the diplomatic Community from both
countries with sponsorship from Institut Francais, Embassy of Japan, PILOT,
Taiyo Industry Africa Inc, Ile de France, CNC, ADAV, Association Francais du
Cinema d'animation {AFCA}, L'agence du Court Metrage, WASSHA, and other Notable
sponsors . The Event had in Attendance Nigerian Dignitaries including the
Elegant Stallion Onyeka Onwenu {DG, National Centre For Women's Development},
Mrs. Sally Mbanefo {DG, NTDC} as well as Nollywood artiste, Mr. Ejike
Asiedu.
The
high-point of the Occasion was the raffle draw which led to emerging prize
winners carting away TV sets presented by Mr. Masanori Ito Of the Taiyo
Industry Africa Inc.
The
Winners Mr. Mustapha Ahmed and Mr. Olamide were ecstatic with Joy as they
extolled the 2 Governments for bringing such Creativity to Nigeria.

The First Secretary , Head Of Protocol/Information and Culture and Deputy head of Political/General Affairs Section Mr. Hideki Sakamoto, disclosed the intention of the Japanese Government to Establish an Anime Institute In Lagos and Abuja, for the benefit of Nigerians. This will serve to boost the entertainment industry of the nation. It is also a wonderful example as well as an opportunity for Nigeria to take a cue and export her rich cultural heritage to these countries. Other countries with diplomatic relations with Nigeria will do
well to render the same assistance as a Corporate Social Responsibility to this
country.
In
attendance was also Ms. Ayumi Imaoka, a Japanese Language Teacher also
disclosed that a Japanese Language Institute would be Set-up sometime in the
May Next year.
